Show Volume XI THE Issue IV OGDEN VALLEY NEWS Page 5 December 1, 2004 Live a Rich, Well Considered Life Recently it has been brought home to me that life can change in an instant and that every moment is precious. My mother, who is quite young—in her 60s—went from a very active eventful life of traveling and being on the go, to being on her deathbed. [| mean literally on her deathbed and on full life support. ~ Although she still is in an acute care facility, beyond all odds, she is slowly, slowly recuperating. My life, your life, can change in an instant and every moment really is precious. Life is fleeting. Capture each moment. It is so easy to take things, people, and our surroundings for granted. We can’t help but be overwhelmed with so much going on in our lives. Running our kids to and fro; attending meetings; dealing with pressing deadlines; winter tires, the list goes on. We are inundated. So last week when I picked up the Ogden Valley News and read about Karen Starnes and her family, sadly, I could relate. This family is dealing with the overwhelming. thought to myself, there is no better way than to help. Help, and at the same time, increase awareness. As coordinate coincidence would have it, in the works at Wilkerson Fine Art was an exhibit scheduled for December 15 through December 24 of small works (paintings and sculpture smaller than 16” x 20” called “All Things Small.” What a perfect opportunity to raise money for Karen Starnes and her family and provide a tool for seeing the world more acutely, for being more aware and alive through art. Pablo Piccasso once said: “The purpose ei so is washing the dust of daily life off our is our universal language. Long ~ the written word, art was the means of communicating and documenting life. Art conveys feeling and emotion. It is quiet, it is loud, it soothes, it excites, it teaches, it touches. Art is a window, perhaps even a mirror, to the soul. Art helps us find the peace that connects us. So take this opportunity to help the Starnes family, and your family too, by participating in the Wilkerson Fine Art Exhibit “All Things Small.” This is an exhibit to raise funds for aren Starnes and her family. Stop, look, and feel because life is too short; participate, take notice. The Wilkerson Fine Art “All Things Small” event will run December 15, 2004 — December 24, 2004.
