Show QUICK RECOVERY of valuables lost by a pullman passenger the prompt action of officer frank smyth at an early hour this morning resulted in the recovery of a reticule containing a purse gold watch other jewelry and two railroad passes one between ogden and salt lake and the other between bills kan and ogden belonging to mrs J L bascon of ellis kan who arrived in the city on union pacific train no 3 at a m when the arrived mrs bascon who was to meet mra william van tassel with whom she is to remain for a time asked the pullman porter to assist her in carrying her luggage to the depot after securing a seat and just a few minutes before the short line train was to leava tor salt lake mrs bacon discovered that her reticule was missing and believing that she had dropped tt in the depot notified officer smyth he did not waste much time about the depot but at once looked for the pullman porter and asked him tor the bag that he had found the man gave up the reticule at once and said hat as his car was going to salt lake he had not had time to turn it over to the office here smyth accepted the mans explanation and although nothing bad been disturbed the clasp had been boken b by some one in his haste to ascertain the contents |
