Show Lewiston Names Candidates for City Elections Merle G. Hyer was nominated as the Citizen's party candidate for mayor of Lewiston at a primary pri-mary held Thursday, according to D. D. Buttars, chairman of the committee. Langton W. ' Barber, who has served the city the past two years did not seek re-election. Other citizen party candidates include Levi D. Bodily for four year councilman; Harold Wood, Wilford P. Waddoups and Joseph A. Ransom for the three two year council posts; E. M. Van Orden, for treasurer; Sylmar G. Jessop, recorder; H. Fay Bernhi-sel, Bernhi-sel, justice of the peace. S. H. Pond also a member of the Citizens' Citi-zens' party is the holdover councilman coun-cilman .having served only two years of his four year term. Candidates who will oppose the above on the Progressive party on November 4, are: B. T. Pond, mayor; J. W. Baer, four year councilman; Saul E. Hyer, D. O. Hendricks and Clayton Nielsen, for two year councilmen; C. L. Han- sen, for treasurer; Jennie Chris-tensen, Chris-tensen, for recorder and W. Leon Pond, justice of the peace. |
