A month ago the Commission Commis-sion began, with the cooperation of the Defense Communications Board, setting up several posts in the United States and its possessions posses-sions to listen to short wave broadcasts. br-oadcasts. When the system is complete, com-plete, 350 specialists will be employed em-ployed in transcribing, translating translat-ing and analyzing newscasts, and other foreign radio material coming com-ing over the air, principally to determine the sources and nature of subversive radio propaganda. All such material will be sent to Washington to be coordinated. THE POULTRY AND EGG SITUATION SIT-UATION Efforts are now being made by the Department of Agriculture Agr-iculture to stimulate the production produc-tion of eggs and chickens over a period ending June 30, 1943. The increase in production is being encouraged en-couraged to provide for export requiremets uner the provisions I of the lend-lease program while maintaining about normal levels of per capita consumption in the United States. The expansion will be stimulated stimula-ted primarily by supporting egg prices. By purchasing eggs in the open market, the government will support egg prices at a level such the the Chicago wholesale price for the period from now until June 30, 1943 will average about 22 cents per dozen.- In determining determin-ing the approximate monthly prices pri-ces consideration will be given to normal seasonal variation, differentials differ-entials as to grade and shipping distances when purchases are j made at coutry points, and to relative prices of feed. CIVILIAN PILOT TRAINING Scholastic credit for successful completion of the Civil Aeronautics Aeronau-tics Administration's Civilian Pilot Pi-lot Training is being offered by 362 colleges and universities. This is more than one third of the total number of schools participating partici-pating in the program. At the present time there are 945 college and- 203 non-college training centers cen-ters participating.
