Show J. D. SIMPSON BECOMES VICTIM OF INFLUENZA James D. 'Simpson, one of Mount Pleasant's prominent citizens, passed away at his home in this city Monday evening at 6:30 o'clock, after five days illness with Spanish Influenza. Mr. Simpson was born June 26, 1S67, being 51 years old at the time of his death. He was the son of Hans Y. Simpson. Mr. Simpson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Beckstrom Simpson, Simp-son, who is very ill at the present time with Influenza, four daughters and two sons. They are Muriel, Eva, Joseph, Louise, Morris and Dorothy, His brothers and sisters are Mrs. Olof Rosenlof, deceased; Mrs. August Aug-ust Pearson, deceased; Mrs. Peter Frandsen, Mrs. Hans Neilson, and Peter Simpson all of this city, and Mrs. George B. Corwin of Salt Lake City, C. H. Simpson of Indianola, Joseph Simpson, who died at the age of twelve years, and Mrs. J. A. Bjelke of this city. His parents are both dead. Burial took place in the city cemetery ceme-tery Tuesday at 2 o'clock p. m. Pres. A. Merz dedicate'd the grave. Mr. Simpson was ell known throughout this section of the state. He was for about 25 years an employee em-ployee of the Denver and Rio Grande Rail Road Company. For a number of years he was agent at the Spring CRy depot. Since that time he has been a traveling freight agent ror the rail road company. During the past few years he has taken an active part in. buying and selling livestock and wool, and was interested in mining min-ing properties of this state. The family of Mr. Simpson have the sympathy of the community. W.S.S. |
