Jens Jensen, son of P. C. Jensen of Fairview, is now home from Salt Lake City where he has been at the hospital and had a very severe operation op-eration performed. Dr. Middleton and Dr. Allen were the operating physicians. Mr. Jensen is doing very nicely at present and will soon be able to be around. P. C-Jensen, who was kicked with a horse and laid up at his home for a few weeks, is improving very nicely and it is hoped that he will soon be able to attend his worK again. On Sunday evening a surprise party was given Mr. Earnest Terry at his home in honor of his eight eenth birthday. The evening was spent in games and delicious refreshment refresh-ment were served. About fifecn of his friends enjoyed the social. Miss Von Delia Hansen entertained I a number of her little friends in honor of her ninth birthday Wednesday. Wednes-day. The time was spent in music and games. More than a dozhn of her little friends were present. Refreshments Re-freshments were served. Mr. S. P. Anderson, who has spent the past year in his native land, Denmark, has returned to Fairview. He says his eyesight is much better, having three operations performed while in DenmarK to restore his sight. Mrs. Olevia Fredrickson accompanied ac-companied him home and will make her home at Fairview. Aaron Cheney went to Ephraim Sunday the 19th to take a Missionary course this winter in the Snow Academy. The Public School celebrated Mon day October 20th as field day. They took luncheon and went into the fields west of town and spent a delightful de-lightful day and also went on the hills and gathered rocks, etc. Mrs. I. J. Frampton visited relatives rela-tives and friends at Provolast week. Mr. and Mrs. Dr. Edmunds visited relatives at Wales this week. The boys of the Fairview Public Schools have started training in basket ball, preparing for the championship games to be held in this part of the county in February. The Mutual meetings are held on Sunday evenings now and they have excellent programs. Everybody is invited to attend. At present the political situation in Fairview is very lively. Three tickets have already been named and are in the field. If each party keeps up their enthusiasm they will make it very interesting for the people on Nov. 4th. The Democrats met on Oct. 10th and reorganized with George Olsen as chairman, Carl Sundwall secretary. Following is the ticket for city officers. of-ficers. Mayor, C. L. Pritchett (who is the present incumbent;) Recorder, Peter Sundwall; Treasurer, H. P. Hansen; Councilman, for four year term, Amasa B. Cox; for two year term, Hyrum Vance, John W. Pritchett and Peter Peterson. The Republicans met Oct. 18, and reorganized with John R. Graham as chairman and J. W. Christiansen Secretary; Their city ticket is as follows: For Mayor, E. H. Anderson; Re-corder, Re-corder, J. W. Christiansen; Treasurer, Treasur-er, James P. Larsen; Four year councilman, O. F. Matson; Two year councilmen, Allie L. Carlston, N. P. Christenson and Lewis Peterson. The Bull Moose party has also reorganized. re-organized. Their city ticket is. For Mayor, Lewis C. Larsen; Recorder, H. W. Sanderson. Jr.; Treasurer,'! Eli A. Day, Jr.; Four year councilman, council-man, S. W. Mower; Two years councilmen, coun-cilmen, Albert Christenson and John A. Vance. Each party thinks thay have the V best men and all feel sure of their election. |
