At 24, Akins has all the energy and drive of a fresh new artist, but the key to the appeal of his debut album "A Thousand Memories", is its simplicity, basic honesty and reality. He sings with an emotional edge that says he knows d what hes singing about. He cowrote all the songs except one, and they reflect real life. Despite his newcomer status, Akins has packed plenty of performance experience, as well as in the studio, into the past few years, and his songs were written with some of Nashvilles most successful writers. The result is an album that brings together real life songs and performances to introduce a fresh new artistic voice in country music.
