Show Mt. Pleasant Couple To Observe Golden Wedding Fifty years of marriage will culminate in a golden wedding anniveresary next Monday for Mr. and Mrs. A. William Winkler of Mt. Pleasant. They will celebrate cele-brate at a luncheon in the South ward chapel Monday afternoon at 1:00 p. m. at which time they will entertain their children and grandchildren. Mr. Winkler was born in Mt. Pleasant February 28, 1870, the son of Ulrich and Mary Thalman Winkler. Mrs. Winkler, a daughter daugh-ter of John and Magdalene II. Fowles, was born November 3, 1879 in Mt. Pleasant. The couple was married in the L. D. S: Temple Tem-ple at Manti July 14, 1897. They lived for a short time in Orange-ville, Orange-ville, Emery County, and later came to Moroni, where Mr. Winkler Wink-ler was miller for the Jensen Brothers Milling Company for a number of yearh. They later moved to Mt. Pleasant, where Mr. Winkler engaged in farming. Both have been active members of the L D churcn. Mr. Winkler filled two foreign missions, and was active in the Seventies quorum quo-rum until his health failed. Mrs. Winkler has been a Relief Society So-ciety teacher for 39 years. Parents of seven children, they have six sons living, all of whom will be present for the anniversary. anniver-sary. They are Aurel P. Winkler, Tohatchi, New Mexico; W. Owen Winkler, Arlington, Virginia; Evan Ev-an T. Winkler, Pocatello, Idaho; J. Harold Winkler, Mt. Pleasant; Grant Winkler, Salt Lake City; Wendell A. Winkler, Tooele, U-tah; U-tah; and 14 grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited in-vited to attend an open house reception re-ception to be held at their home from 4:00 to 7:00 P. M. on Monday. |
