Show Spring City Celebrate 64th Anniversary Of Wedding Date Mr. and Mrs. William E. Robinson, Rob-inson, called "Grandma and Grandpa Robinson" by many who know and love them reached reach-ed their 64th wedding anniversary, anni-versary, Saturday. Their wed- ding day occurred in Salt Lake City, November 23, 1883. The ,' marriage ceremony was per-formed per-formed by Daniel H. Wells in the Old Endowment House in Salt Lake City. " The trip to and return from the city took four days travel and was made bv wagon. The fine old couple have been most active in the community and ward. They have vivid memories memo-ries of the Pioneer days and hardships and as the father of Mr. Robinson was a pioneer gunsmith gun-smith by trade and Mrs Robinson's Robin-son's father an Indian interpreter interpre-ter and colonizer, the couple know of the Indian troubles and many of the Indian chiefs by name. Mr. Robinson was born in Spring City, June 5. 1862, a son of John and Emma Lucas Robinson. Rob-inson. He has served as President Presi-dent of the ward MIA, superintendent superin-tendent of the ward Sunday School, a member of the Slake Sunday School Board for twenty years. He served for many years as a ward visiting teacher teach-er and president, and a member of the ward choir. He has served serv-ed on two missions, in Cache Valley and Idaho, and in Wyoming Wy-oming and Colorado. In civic affairs he has been active as a county road supervisor and city councilman. Mrs. Robinson was born at Ephraim, April 9, 1863, a daughter daugh-ter of James T. S. Allred and Margaret Mainwaring Allred. She lived in Circle Valley, Ephraim Eph-raim and in Sprincr City. She served for many years as a Relief Re-lief Society visiting teacher and a Sunday School teacher. She was very active in sewing for the dead and assisting in preparing pre-paring them for burial. Their four children are living, Mrs. Ruth Osborne, Mrs. Bertha Blain and Leonard Robinson of this city and Mrs. Emma Puzey of Magna. There are ten living grandchildren, 19 ereat-granf;-.children living and one great-great-grandchild. Clive Barney Jr., and Douglas Allen of Alhambra, Calif , students stu-dents at the BYU, spent the wppKond in this citv. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Black, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Beck and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Jensen entertained enter-tained the members of the Ale-thea Ale-thea Club and their husbands at the Jensen home, Monday evening. Progressive Rook was played and all enioved a hot lunch. Miss Bernice Palfryman, county coun-ty Home Demonstrator and Miss Rhea Ruish of the Extension (Division of the U. A. C. held a 3-day demonstration on furniture furni-ture upholstering at the home of Mrs. Earl Jensen. Several women attended the class. (Continued on back page.) j SPRING CITY I By Mrs. Virgus Osborne (continued from front page) The ward ba.aar held Friday was very successful and was most entertaining to all present. Many beautiful articles were sold in connection with cats of various kinds. The Boy Scout skit, the numbers on the program, pro-gram, the Scout minstrel show, the Gypsy fortune telling booth and the fishing pond added to the amusements for all. Visiting Sunday at the home of Bishop and Mrs. Reid H. All-red All-red over the weekend were Mr and Mrs. Keitli Allied and baby Howard of 1'rovo, and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Larsen and boys of Fairview. The Primary children pie-pared pie-pared several beautiful Thanksgiving Thanks-giving boxes and baskets and took to the aged people of the ward, Tuesday. The children contributed the goodies for the baskets. The gifts are a yearly event of the children. Mr. and Mrs. Mar Dye visited in Salt Lake City Sunday and Monday. Ward Conference Held Spring City ward conference was held Sunday evening with Bishop Reid H. Allred in charge. The Stake Presidency attending were, President Golden Carl-ston Carl-ston and V. C. Olson. The Stake High Council members present were Archie Anderson, Stanley Brady, George Squire, Clifford McKinney, Loyal Graham, Gra-ham, Reid Lasson, James F. Ellis, Newell Cox, Alfred Drage. Ruel Seely and Heber Mower. The speakers of the conference confer-ence were, Ruel Seely, Mrs. Iva Aiken, Louis Allred, Bishop All-red, All-red, George Squire, and President Presi-dent W. C. Olson A girls chorus chor-us sang two numbers, "The Lord's Prayer" and "Utah We Love Thee'"'. Included in the chorus singing were Mor Rae Blain, Shirley Schofield, Marilyn Christensen, ' Mehl Ree Draper, Donna Bunnell, Xoreen Acord, Lenore Allred, Ruth Ellis, Carol Terry, Neva Beck, Sherlene All-red, All-red, Joan Ball. Carol Marie Robinson, Rob-inson, Lois Beck. Carol Allred and Ina Rose Hansen. E. B. Terry conducted the chorus. The Stake High Council members mem-bers and presidency sang a number. Royal L. Allred has been selected se-lected as a counselor in the ward Sunday School. He will be a counselor to Suot. Rudolph. Hope. Mr. Earl Allred was injured on the head Sundav when a water pipe fell on him. He re-ceied re-ceied a badly cut head. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Heath and Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Petersen Peter-sen of Salt Lake City visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs V. II. Petersen and Glade Petersen. They came to attend the birthday birth-day of Glade. The boy friends of Glade also observed his birthday birth-day that same evening. |
