Show Pge 10 - Millard County FLOWELL Virgie Ivie Ph Mrs Grant Robinson were saddened to receive a telephone call from their son Kit Robinson that his wife Colleen’s mother Reja Shelly had died suddenly of a massive heart attack in the Provo Hospital Grant and Arleen attended funeral services for Mrs Shelly in Mt Pleasant August 27 On September 4 Grant and Arleen went to Salt Lake City Arleen visited with her mother Laura Atha while Grant attended to some business They enjoyed dinher at different times along with Mother Laura with their sons Kit and Colleen and children Kirk and Sherry and children and Bart Grant and Arleen returned home September 6 Ruth Allen has had visits from three of her grandchildren recently at different times Their parents are Royal and Clarice Hurd of Orem Richard Hurd is in the process of moving his family to St George from Orem where he is starting a business Kennith Hurd of Orem called in for a short visit with Grandma Ruth His sister Julie Hurd Goodman and her husband Michael and little daughter were overnight guests They were returning to their home in Orem from St George where they had visited Michael’s family Mrs Kevin (Marlene) Christensen and children Curtis Casey Angela Stephanie Lori and Cameron went to Cedar City Sunday afternoon They were overnight guests and Labor Day of her sister and La Dawn and Ron Berkey They enjoyed each other’s company and had a wonderful visit Mrs Rex Allen took her daughter Wendy to Cedar City September 8 Wendy was there on business in connection with her going to SUSC later this month Mrs Michael (Delinda) Eddison visited with her parents Anthony and Diana Fuller and family They came especially so Michael could be with his mother Sue Eddison and family and to attend funeral services in Fillmore 1st Ward September for his father Robert Eddison Michael and Delinda are living in Escalante at the present time where he works for the Forest Service Our sympathy and love are extended to the Eddison family "John and Julia Jackson of Mapleton spent September 5 and 6 here with his mother Norma Jackson She always enjoys having her children come Mrs Arthur Allen have visited their daughter and Cindy Thurs Sept 17 1987 USPS and Paul Astle and four daughters in attended to Murray while Arthur business the past weekend September Mrs John (Jolene) Sevey and children David Robin Hannah Sarah and Alex arrived September 4 to spend the Labor Day holiday with her parents Ralph and Leah Robinson They also visited her brother Alden his wife Brenda and children and grandmothers Pauline Robinson who has been at her home here while her daughter Mrs Bruce (Betty) Nibley of Salt Lake City has been staying with her also grandmother Freda Christensen who makes her home with daughter Leah and Ralph The Seveys returned to their California home in Riverside September 8 Ulala Mace spent a week recently in Cedar City with her son Brent and’ his wife Myrna and family Their daughter Pamela was getting ready to attend college Grandma Ulala assisted with some of the preparations and enjoyed every minute of it and the very nice visit too On Labor Day Ulala went to Oak City to visit her nephew Kent Dewsnup and his wife and family Winona of Deseret met her sister Ulala at Kent’s home They went especially to let Kent and family know they cared and were concerned about the condition of Kent’s son Russell Dewsnup who is in the Provo Hospital and is very ill Sometime ago he underwent major surgery His parents visit him often and spend time with him We wish this young man better health soon and comfort for him and his family On September 3 Virgie Ivie drove Her brother Clayton to Nephi Williams took her to Orem on business She visited that evening with Clayton and their brother Loyd Williams returning home September 4 On September 6 Virgie’s granddaughter Angela Daley and her husband Mark and children Julye Michael Jeremy and Scott came and took her with them to Beaver to visit Don and Carene Angelo’s parents Baldwin their son and Terry and Terri Lynn Baldwin and children Avery JR Kimberly and Kadee their daughter and Kim and Greg Solberg and sons Derek Daren and Ryan The special occasion was to attend Sacrament Meeting in the Solberg’s ward where Greg gave his little son a father’s blessing and the name Little Ryan’s Ryan James Solberg grandfather Don Baldwin uncles Terry Baldwin and Mark Daley and a very close friend of the Solbergs from Tooele and the Bishopric stood with Greg His mother Loma Call and his sister Linda and Kiera were in attendance for this special occasion as were the wife three daughters and son of the friend who helped with the blessing I do not have their names The James name for little Ryan is in honor of his great grandfather James Delene Ivie The Solbergs had prepared a delicious meal for this large crowd of people at their home up the beautiful canyon Kim did the meal by herself on Saturday at her request except the delicious roast beef which Greg did on Saturday in an outdoor pit The Daleys delivered Grandma Virgie safely home Sunday evening then went on to their home in Provo DELTA Eddys Barben Ph: Mrs Ruth Steele is pleased to announce the marriage of her daughter Sharron Stromberg of Washington DC to Mr John George of Denver Colorado The marriage was performed by Sharron’s Stake President David Ferrell on Sunday September 6 at the home of friends Alan and Kathleen Morehead in Washington DC A delicious luncheon was served to those in attendance afterwhich John and SharSharron left for a honeymoon ron’s office staff gave her a going away A party with over 100 in attendance delicious buffet lunchion was served where guests helped themselves while they enjoyed a good visit The director of office gave Sharron a certificate of merit for her work and the head of the women’s organization presented Sharron with a plaque that was beautiful She also received several beautiful bouquets of flowers Sharron’s office is transferring her to another office in Denver CO She has DC spent 33 years in Washington and enjoyed her experience work and associates there very much But she is very happy to make Denver CO her new home now Ruth Steele is happy to have Sharron this near Delta now Mrs Grayson Roper Cherry Clark and Michael Gloria Roper Bruce and Tricia and family traveled to Salt Lake Other City to the fair Saturday members of the family meeting them there were Dennis and Cynthia Cook Jackie Webb Tricia Roper and girls and Dave and Shanna Roper They all watched David Taylor home where dinner was A family reunion of the descendants of George W and Emily Randall Snow was held recently at the home of Charlotte and Willis Morrison Those attending were Ralph Jr and Joy Darrel and Gay Scow and children Stella and Fon Hawley went to Logan Utah where they attended the HS and Hattie Cahoon family reunion which is held each year on Labor Day This year the Newell Cahoon family was in charge of the reunion There was a large crowd in attendance to enjoy the very nice event It was held at the Logan City Park In attendance were Newell Cahoon and family from Logan Stella in attendance Luncheon was served SANDS APRTMENTS Mary Bassett by Mary M Bassett Labor Day Weekend Lee and Margo C Snowden and their daughter Lori S Weber visited LaFaye Corey at her Sands Apartment and presented this lovely Sands building a beautiful electric organ they had in their home for 25 years This organ had been used in a Las Vegas club before the Snowdons owned the organ They just bought themselves a new organ They felt like the Sands people could enjoy this nice instrument Thank you dear friends for this lovely gift It will surely be enand used here joyed appreciated Margo is a daughter of LaFaye Corey Frieda Whicker went to Salt Lake City this week to visit her sister Gwen and Ken Carol for a week Fred and Elva Skeem brought a large box of corn and cucumbers to the Sand’s
