Show Pig 6 - Millard County USPS Thurs Dec 3 1987 Community Event Open House to honor Martin and Staples s You are cordially invited to an open house December 15 1987 from 2 to 4 pm at the Millard County Courthouse in Fillmore Utah LaVoy Martin is retiring with 25 years of service and Lorraine Staples is retiring with 17 years of service We would publicly like to thank LaVoy and Lorraine for the dedicated service they have given the county through the years December is a magic month state contest 21 at the November Saturday University of Utah Stephanie Monsen was announced the State Kindergarten winner of the Water Education Art Contest That night a special banquet and reception was held for all of the and their families state winners was presented with two Stephanie trophies— one for her to keep and another large traveling trophy to main at the school She also won tickets for her family to attend the Festival of the American West in Logan tickets to the Hogle Zoo and tickets to Hansen Planetarium Stephanie is the daughter of John and Chris Monsen Holden and the of Lewis and Janet granddaughter Monsen and Bill and Charlene Tuttle She is a student in Mrs Gates’ kingergarten class at Fillmore Elementary This is the third year for the Governor’s Conference on water education and students throughout the state grades participate in educational activities cluminating in this art contest Stephanie and her teacher are also vited to meet with the governor in his office on December The contest is sponsored by the International Office for Water Education Utah Division of Water Resources and State Water Users groups by Angie Green The First day of December has a magic all its own It heralds in a month of sweet spice and pine tree aromas gaily colored ribbons gift boxes and wrappings scattered here and there Christmas cards from far away loved ones and friends and next door neighbors running in with a plate of cookies freshly baked December first also brings into our hears and homes once again the beautiful much loved story of the Baby Jesus and how His birth changed the lives of mankind forever And speaking of forever can you remember when there wasn’t a Santa Claus?
