Show South Delta VERDA LITTLE Mr, and Mrs. Earl Sagers, along with their son, Mario, and family attended at Thanksgiving Thanks-giving dinner and Langston family reunion at Sandy. It was held In Dale Langston's Ward Church, the Sandy Stake Centor. All ten brothers and sisters of tho Langston clan were there with their spouses, children and grandchildren. It was a marvelous affair. One hundred and four people In all, Including one of the two only living aunts, Sarah Adams. One niece, Dlanne Danelson of San Diego, Calif., daughter of Virginia Anderson, made the trip especially for this time. Carla Johnson's son, Ralph, Just returned a few days before from a mission In North cen- tral states. Another son, Reed, twin to Ralph, was wounded recently re-cently in Vietnam and has been sent back to the states. He has just been home also. So it was a wonderful time for all. Jerry Price was home from Utah State University for Thanksgiving. Jerry says he is . really enjoying school. He is a member of the Sophomore Council and also a member of PI Kappa Alpha Fraternity. The Price family spent ; Thanksgiving day in Nephiwith Nancy's mother. Other relatives rela-tives were also present, Dan Jensen andStephen Gardner Gard-ner traveled to Lamarada, Calif., to enjoy Thanksgiving, with Dan's sister, Mr. and Mrs.' Leon Hicken and family. The boys also spent one night in . Las Vegas for sight seeing and fun. Mr. and Mr s.David Van Wagoner Wag-oner of Las Vegas, had Thanksgiving Thanks-giving in Spanish Fork with David's parents, and visited Carol's folks on the return trip home. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Jeffery and family visited and enjoyed Thanksgiving, with Mr. and Mrs. Marion Kesler (Betty's sister) and family of Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hardy and family, also Mr. and Mrs. LaVerl Jackson and family attended at-tended the Dairy Queen Convention Con-vention and report it to be a very lovely affair.' , Miss Lauralee Riding was home from Dixie College, also Mr. and Mrs. AllenRidtng were homo with their families. Allen is attending Utah Technical College at Provo. Miss Marsha Huff was home from Dixie college, also visiting visit-ing with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hail Jeffery was son, Kenneth, from Utah Technical College at Provo. Needless to say we have had a very busy week at our house, first off, we had Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Dennis C. Little, Jody and Mr. and Mrs. Grant LeFever, in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Little, Guy and Mark came from Calif, for the weekend, visited Mrs. Hazel Sheriff, In Lynndyl, and us. We always enjoy having them come. Mrs. Farrls Johnson, Vlckl, and Sue also visited us over the weekend. All 35 of the Killpack family along with "Blackle" the dog went to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Howarth's (Evelyn's) home for Thanksgiving. They report a very rewarding get together for all. Dr. and Mrs. M. E. Bird had Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Evan Bird and family of Kaysville. Max and Evelyn Robinson, enjoyed being with Mr. and Mrs. Kay Gardner for Thanksgiving Thanks-giving in Orem, . Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas were happily surprised sur-prised last Tuesday night with a party at Mr. and Mrs. Jim Thomas for their 49th wedding anniversary. Gays and Laura Thomas made a beautiful cake they took pictures, 22 children and grandchildren were there. Tommy Watson and his fiancee fian-cee enjoyed a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs, Thomas Watson over the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Watson had all of their children home for Thanksgiving dinner. ABRAHAM How grateful we all are and should be for our United States and also for the best state in It "Utah". I'm sure I don't want to go anywhere else to live and even" Abraham" is good enough for me. We went with the Jay Fullmer family to Tooele for Thanksgiving, spent it with the Frank Tennants. Jay's family wnetto Lake Point and had dinner with Tracy and Sandra and Tracy Jean and Matthew. We all had turkey and all the trimmings. We also got to visit with Dave and Kate Poulson and Billy, who came down from Salt Lake to be with us on that day. It was my birthday too, I was born Nov. 26, 1896 In Centervllle, Davis County, Utah. Altho we ran into some snow flurries going and coming, it was such an enjoyable trip. Dave and Kathleen and their family returned Wednesday morning from the Marine Base in San Diego, Calif., where they went to see their boys, Michael and Kenneth, graduate with high honors and the Poul-sens Poul-sens are pretty proud of their Marines. We all are. The boys are now in Camp Pendleton and are hoping to get home for Christmas. Mr. Jim Petersen and wife Merna have moved to Phoenix, Ariz. Miss Emily Young come home from BYU for the Thanksgiving holidays. Almond Fullmer Sr. had as dinner guests Thanksgiving, the Richard Fullmer family and the Johnnie Fullmer family. There is a lot of flu going around most everyone around here have it or are just over it. Mr. and Mrs. Levi Gtfford and Julie of Jerome, Idaho Mr, and Mrs. Larry Glfford, and daughter Rhonda of Jerome all visited over Thanksgiving holidays with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rom Shields and other family members. AFTON FULLMEB The Carl Corry family spent Thanksgiving In Las Vegas. Nell and Jackie Sampson and family ate Turkey at the Che ter Corbett home and most fo their family was home. Cllfferd and Erma Peterson went to Salt Lake to be with their daughter Charleene and family. Please call me your news Sunday or early Monday. The mail gets here 'pretty early. People way off like to know what you are doing! Walter and Patsy Howard and Lester and Bernice Webb entertained en-tertained the Howard family of Nephi for Thanksgiving. Raymond and Carmella Hoelole had the Ben Schena family and Danny Atherly family of Vernon with them for dinner on Thanksgiving. Also their son, Neno was here from Utah Stale College at Logan. Walter and Lola Stoneklng went up North to be with their family for Thanksgiving. Carl and Helen Marie both live up there. Garland and Phyllis Johnson and daughter, Jill spent the day in Flowell with Phyllis' folks, the Melvin Robisons. Robert Fields l DELTA ELEMENTARY OBSERVED MAT-BOOK MAT-BOOK WEEK Delta Elementary School observed ob-served National Book Week y each child making an individual poster on the theme of "This is the Age of tho Book". This contest was conductod in connection con-nection with the Media Center under the direction of Mrs. Blanche Crafts. School personnelofficlals report re-port that- even though we are now in the space age, books are still the best media for learning. It was hoped through the observance of National Book Week it would build respect re-spect for books, encourage children to be more careful with books and stimulate children chil-dren to read more. Students were very enthusiastic enthusia-stic and many fine posters were .submitted. Teachers chose the four best from each room and they were handed to the judges for final selection. Judges were Mrs. Phil Eliason, Mrs. Shirley Peterson, Pet-erson, Mrs. Bevan Nlelson, Mrs. Junius Anderson, Mrs. Clyde Stowell. Winners were: 1st grade, group posters; 2nd grade, Natalie Nat-alie Dutson; 3rd grade, Shelley Baker; 4th grade, David Hansen Han-sen and Richard Jackson; 5th grade, Nancy Losee; 6th grade, Becky Hansen. Students had their pictures taken and each winner will re ceive a colored picture of himself him-self and his poster. Titles of some of the winning posters and runners up were: "Reading Makes You Comfortable"; Comfor-table"; "Blast off with Books"; "The Midnight Read of Paul Revere"; "How did Columbus discover Americabyreadlng"; "A trip to Disneyland but only in a Book"; "Don't be a chicken, chick-en, Read"; "Reading Is treasure"; treas-ure"; "Your happy when your reading"; "Books are wonderful wonder-ful things"; "Be all you can be read". Oak City News MACEL Sarah Finlinson and family were recent visitors in Provo while Lyman attended business meetings in Denver for the school. Sarah and family visited Sylvia and Dennis Brod-erick Brod-erick and little son and Douglas and Kathy Smith and little daughter. The following day Sarah took her father to Salt Lake to visit Mrs. Church who was at the L.D.S, hospital where she underwent recent surgery. Hope she is recovering recover-ing satisfactorily. Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson drove to Willard for Thanksgiving Thanks-giving day to enjoy the day with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Weddt-son Weddt-son (Maurine) and family. They returned to Oak City where they will remain until after funeral services for Mrs. Blanchard. Mrs. Betty Dodge of Salt Lake spent Thanksgiving with her mother, Mrs. Mae Shipley, she brought with her, Miss Gwen Christensen to spend the day with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Christensen and family. Mrs. Mae Shipley was happily entertained Saturday afternoon by her three granddaughters. (The daughters of Grant and Ann Finlinson.) Their daughter, Janet and children chil-dren visited from Orem a few days during the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Faust were here during the past few days working on their home on the way down, they were unfortunate unfort-unate enough to meet with a cow on the highway, damaging both cow and car. The cow belonged to Grant Finlinson. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Anderson Ander-son have had Donna's folks visiting a few days. Theyc'ame especially to visit their mother, Mrs. Geneverie Blanchard who passed away Sunday morning at the West' Millard Hospital after a short illness and breaking her hip. Our sympathy goes to the family with the loss of their mother. She has been a patient at the extended care for the past year or two. Saturday evening, Macel and Paul Anderson, Kathy Wright and Larry Stephenson drove to Richfield where they had an enjoyable evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Poulson. Paul and Kathy drove back to Provo and Macel and Larry returned home Sunday. Mrs. Margaret Roper has been spending the past few days at Hinckley. She left Wednesday Wednes-day to enjoy Thanksgiving with her family the Eugene Morris family. Mrs. Aretta Peterson was a Salt Lake visitor the past week with members of her family. Mr. and Mrs. Humphries had as dinner guests on Thanksgiving Thanks-giving her brother and family the Rowley's of Oasis. At sacrament meetlngSunday evening Elder Whatcott of Tucson, Tuc-son, Ariz., was the speaker. He has recently returned from a mission in Germany and is the son of Karl and Georgia Whatcott and a grandsonof Mr. and Mrs. Ray Finlinson. At present he is a student at BYU. Mr. and Mrs. Quale Dutson of Salt Lake entertained at a fireside for the young people by showing and explaining movies of his stay In Vietnam. It is beautiful country and was very Interesting. He just returned re-turned and was released after a tour of duty as an office in the Army in that Country. Word was received from Peter Nielson that he is enjoying enjoy-ing his stay In Texas very much with his son, Bryon and family. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Walker had as dinner guests on Thanksgiving Viola's family of Fillmore. They had an enjoyable enjoy-able time together. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lovell had as a pre-Thanksgiving visit their son, Brent and wife Lc Ren and children, Lisa, Russell and Jeremy of Pleasanton, Calif., and son David and Ros-mary Ros-mary and little son, Leland of Cedar. David Is employed In the Cornel store in Cedar. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Quick of Spokane, Wash, have their new son born Nov. 20, with five older brothers to greet him. They are Gary, Dale, Bruce Bryce and Steven. This is the 15th grandchild for Florence and Marvin. The new baby will be named Roger Allen.
