Show Word Of Death Of Dr. Tracy Was Unfounded . We are glad to report that the item concerning the death of Dr. E. R. C. Tracy, North Tract pioneer was unfounded. She is still living and apparently the word of her death which came to Delta had been confused with that of her sister, Mrs. Mary Fredericks, who was buried in Delta last fall. John DeLapp wrote to Florida after reading in the Chronicle of Dec. 27 of the death of Dr. Tracy. He received a reply from E. D. Brownlee, D. D. minster of the First Presbyterian Church at Inverness, Inver-ness, Fla., dated Jan. 6, 1952. Dr. Brownlee wrote that he still keeps in touch with Dr. Tracy, had visited her recently, and at Christmas Christ-mas time some of the young people peo-ple from the church went by to sing Christmas carols for her. ble all the time, but is still able to get her meals and look after herself in her little apartment. ' As Dr. Tracy is 90 years old or more she has not corresponded with ' her local friends for some time. For that reason news of her comes roundabout and in this instance in-stance was not founded on fact. The Chronicle did not attempt to verify the information at the time on account of time and distance lapse, and we are glad to learn that the good doctor is still among the living. |
