Show Gandy Besident Buried in Bella George N. Johnson, 82, who lived liv-ed near Gandy for the past 30 years, died Thursday, March 11, in the Utah county infirmary, of caus-I caus-I es incident to age. He had been in ! poor health for the past several months, and was taken to Provo two weeks ago by O. J. Bennett deputy sheriff of Millard county. He was born August 12, 1865, at Racine, Wisconsin, a son of Peter and Marie Johnson, of Denmark. As a young man he had travelled widely in the west as a teamster with circuses, and for many years was associated with Buffalo Bill Cody, and his Wild West shows. He was an experienced hand with horses and livestock, and worked with them on ranches in Warm Creek, where he had chosen to live to be away from cities and crowds. There are no known living relatives. rela-tives. A hobby of Mr. Johnson's was to . carve wood, at which he was a past master. At one time he took a 4x4 and carved a chain, ornamented ornament-ed with anchors, ten feet long. Several Sev-eral years ago he gave the chain to Ben Robinson, who placed it in the museum at Fillmore, where it now is. |
