Show Legion Auxiliary Post 117 Elects Commander L. F. Gordon, of Post 117 met with the Auxiliary Friday night, March 12. The purposes of this meeting were the election of officers and the appointing of committees. com-mittees. The officers are as follows: Mrs. Robert Riding, president; Mrs. Ray Steele, first vice-president; Mrs. Byron Carter second vice-president; Mrs. Gene Walker, secretary; Mrs. James Knight, treasurer; Mrs. Dorman Johnson, historian; Mrs. Frank Sly, Serg-'eant-at-arms; and Mrs. Wayne . Sorenson, chaplain. Commander Gordon pointed out the necessity of a well-organized and functioning Auxiliary. He emphasized em-phasized the fact that a Legion Post's success depends largely on an Auxiliary. First Vice Commander, Frank Bishop was also present. He gave an impromtu speech of the merits of the Legion Post and how they could be enlarged by an Auxiliary. Finance Officer Wayne Sorenson, Soren-son, Executive Committeman, Bob Wallace, and Sergeant-at-Arms, Frank Van gave an account of their experiences with the Legion and what good they derived from it in their various ways. The newly formed Auxiliary extends ex-tends an invitation to all prospective prospec-tive members to the next meeting. This meeting will be held in the Legion Hall Friday night, March 19, at 8:00 o'clock. |
