Show THE NEWS FROM FILLMORE Public Affairs and Local Happenings at the County Seat Although election Is over, It has not stopped politics. The Socialist state organizer, Mr. Fox. has been here holding hold-ing meetings. Saturday he spoke to a full house In the City Hall, and Sunday Sun-day night at the same place. He gave a talk on Socialism, making that particular par-ticular belief coincide with the Illble. At the close of his speech he gave any one the privilege of asking (ideations, (idea-tions, which made the meeting very interesting. He organized a Socialist local with 41 members. The County Treasurer, with bis aides, are being kept very busy these days settling up taxes. Miss Ella Kusmusscn, who has been In Fillmore fur about three weeks nursing her brother-in-law, Thomas Hat ton, who had been very sick, left last Monday to resume her duties In the I.. D. S. Hospital. Marian Copley and wife came home Sunday. Mr. Copley has been working on the new sugar factory near Elsl nore. Alfred Swallow and William Peterson returned with him. County Clerk N. C. Anderson left Friday for Salt Lake City to attend to some business. Mr. Alfred Kobison, who shipped some cattle north last Monday, returned re-turned home last Friday. He is now shipping a carload of pigs to the Salt Lake market. The mall has been late lately on account ac-count of muddy roads. According to notice of the primary teachers Sunday afternoon the enter tainmeiit was given. The exercises were a credit to the teachers and children and the large audience which at tended felt well repaid for coming out. Last Friday night a wood dance ami supper was given by the Relief Society, Socie-ty, the proceeds to go to the poor of this city. Helping those who ate unable un-able to help themselves Is good Christian Chris-tian doU'iiiie. Some people of Pill more are sure good christians. It is a dishonor to a community to let some o'd poor folks live In want when there are plenty of young husky men in the town alile to help the poor. Praise N due to those people who hauled wood for the poor or patronized the dance and supper. Honor Is due to l!ii promoter (if the charitable move. Sunday. The City Marshal with a force of 2' men are busy cleaning the city ditches. Several steel culverts hive been placed in soi.ie of the ditches on Main street by Marshal Rowley.
