RASMUSSEN, Vice OSCAR OLSON, Sec. & Treasurer. Dated at Midvale City, Utah, Friday, February 25, 1927. UTAH ................................................................... WHAT IDVALE LIONS ARE DO NG Direction, Publicity Committee, Lions . One of the most interesting meet· ings of the year was held March 3rd. Messrs. Chipman, President of the American Fork Commercial Club, J. G. Walton, Secretary, John L. Firmage, and Thus. Codding·ton, all of American Fork, Messr.~. Jenkins, Peters, Ph.'ton, from the Murray Club, Dist. Governor II. L. Selly and International Director M. M. Nielsen, were guests of the local Club. Professor B. Roland Lewis of the U. of Utah, gave a splendid talk on ''Europe, Past, Present and Future.'' Those present will agree on several things; first that we kno.»' very little about European conditions and that we have a great deal in our 'own U. S. to be 'proud of. There is a spirit of sadness throughout all of Great Britian because of tremendous war losses together with a realization that the day is not far off that some of he:r. colonies will seek their independence. leaving her no longer the "Mistress of the Seas". In France is found an indifference to War Debts to other countries especially America, because on her soil was fought a war which was to bring a greater freedom. Throughout all France are found innumerable placards bearing this legend; "Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.'' In Italy is found activity and ear nestness nowhere else to be found in all of Europe. Italy under the thumb of Mussolini is rapidly becoming a ranking 'power and if the present activity 'grows prediction has it that in NOTICE OF ASSESSMENT ten yea1·s she will be equal to Germany prior to the war in industry and ALTA HE LENA MINI NG & MILLING COMPANY power. Over it all prevails a spirit of un. rest and doubt. It is riot often that Location of principal place of bussuch capable speakers as Prof. Lewis iness, Salt Lake City, Utah. can be heard. in charge have reported that the county commissioners have sanctioned the widening of that portion of the county hig~way between the 0. S. L. track and State Street and that the matter is in the hands of the County Engineer at this time. We people of Midvale know that this is a dangerous section of the highway an·! that this much needEcd improvement cannot come too soon. The Annual Easter Egg hunt no doubt, i» being looked for wit\ keen interest by the younger citizens of our City. They may rest assured for this year it will be a "Digger and Better Time For All Concemed.'' April 17th is the day. Mary had a little skirt, Latest style no doubt; Every time she was haU way in, She was more than half way out. ]\folly Cassidy-"Shure, Pat, I had a certificate ov karacter, but I lost it co min' over. Phwat shall I do?" Pat Murphy-"Niver moind, Molly; I'll write ye wan." Writes like this: "This is to certify that Molly Cassidy had a good karacter before she lift the ould counthry, but losht it on shipboard cumin' over.!" ,;AUME BEN GUE (Ben-Gay) gives quick .,.elief from the agonizing poin of Rhenlll8tl5m, Neuritis. and every ache and pcin.
