Tho election In Salt Lako City resulted re-sulted In n victory for tho Democrats, who elected tho mayor, treasurer, recorder, re-corder, auditor, attorney and sovon mombcrs of tho council, tho head of tho ticket having a plurality of about 2,000. Tho next council, how-over, how-over, will contain eight Republicans nnd seven Democrats. Tho Republicans won a sweeping sweep-ing victory In Ogdcn, electing tho ontlro general ticket nnd eight of tho ten councllmcn. In tho Fifth ward on tho faco of tho roturns, Em- mett (Dem.) nppears to havo defeated defeat-ed Dilvcr (Rep.) by two votes, and in tho Fourth ward Davison (Dem.) defeats Hendershot (Rop.) by twenty-eight twenty-eight votes. Tho goncral ticket was elected by nbout E00 mnjorlty, Howell for municipal judgo leading tho ticket with 1.408 over Chez (Dem.). At Provo, William Roylance, Democrat, Demo-crat, was elected Mayor. Tho Republicans Re-publicans saved most of tho general ticket and half of tho council. The Republicans of Park City elected elect-ed their ticket with tho exception of marshal (Hartley D. McDonough winning win-ning out), und two councllmcn. Tho returns leave Logan safely In tho hands of tho Repub. leans, E. W. Robinson, the candldato for mayor, being elected by a small plurality. Tho Republicans also elected the marshal, tho recorder and six councllmcn, four of them being for tho long term, tho Democrats safely landing tho trcas urer, Justice of tho poaco and fcur councllmcn by small, majorities, and tho attorney, who had no opposing candidate. Tho Republicans wero also victorious victori-ous at ScofloM, Price, Ephralm, Lchl, Mt. Pleasant, Grantsvllle, Richfield Eureka, Springvlllo, Brlghnm City nnd Wcllsvlllo. Richmond wont Democratic, Dem-ocratic, whllo In Pleasant Grovo the raco was close, both sides getting a portion of tho offices. Tho nonpartt-san nonpartt-san ticket put up nt Murray won out. |
