Show Geo. Y. Smith Dead Another of Smlthlleld's well known citizens has passed away, genial George Y. Smith. He died on Sunday night, the result of liver trouble from which he had suffered all his lire. However ho was seriously ill but for about six weeks before his death. During that time everything was done for him that could bo done, but It was the Master's will that he should go, and medical service was of no avail. Geo. Y. Smith was a genial, whole-souled whole-souled Scotchman In tho 08th year of his age, and was liked by most everybody. every-body. He has served as Justice at Snilthlleld and was generally regaidcd as an old landmaik whom everybody could go to for any legal advice when the services of .inexpert lawyer w etc not tequhed. He was a plain, good old man and highly respeatod. All who knew him will tegret that ho has gone. George Y. leaves a wife, son and tlireo daughters. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. |
