Show A LITTLE BOY DROWNED.

Editor Leader.-A sad affair occurred here yesterday. The people had been enjoying themselves together through the day holding the celebration of the 24th. The children had a dance in the afternoon, after which some of the boys went down to what is known as the Newton reservoir to bathe, and a little before sundown word was brought in town that Robert H. Henderson, son of James and Mary Henderson, was drowned. Quite a number of the brethren hastened to the reservoir and the body was found and brought to town just before dark. He was 9 years, 9 months and 23 days old, and was much beloved by all his playmates.
<br Much sympathy is manifested by the community for brother and sister Henderson in their sad bereavement. The funeral services were held this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Consolatory remarks were made by Elder Henry Yates, Bishop G. L. Farrell of Smithfield and Bishop Jardine.
<br Your brother in the Gospel, Richard Godfrey. Clarkston, July 26, 1881. |
