It seems after Woods Cross beat Bountiful in the first region game, people claimed it was luck. Just wait until next time. They just caught them off SALT LAKE guard. When Woods Cross beat Bountiful the second time, people claimed they were just lucky. They wont go far in the state tournament. When it was apparent that Woods Cross and Bountiful would meet in the final game of the state 4A basketball tourna-men- t, people snickered. Woods Cross is lucky to be this far in the tournament. Bountiful will rip their hides off. When Woods Cross ripped the hides off Bountiful in the final peogame and beat them ple didnt say anything. All the disbelievers were silent and they quietly drove home. No longer having to take a back seat to Bountiful, even when they prove, themselves, Woods Cross now claims to be the best 4A school in the state, and no one steps forward to 76-5- 7, if i? challenge them now. What happened in the final match is something like a blur. It was like watching a movie out of focus. Woods Cross was supposed to be playing Bountiful, but a double was sent in the Braves place and some sort of joke was developing on the court. It was almost like this was some sort of put on and the coaches would both come out onto the floor and laugh at how they, put one over everybody. gain its presence for the Braves. That must have been on his mind, but his team didnt follow. Woods Cross moved to a 0 lead in the second quarter before Bountifuls Gary Seljaas finally broke the Braves silence with a field goal. At that point it looked like this was the time which Hall speaks of, the catch-u- p game. It was also one of the few times which Coach Baker admitted to being worried. Bountiful is the type of team that can come back from being 15 points down. They came back on us twice and got within 10. It worries you a lot because Bountiful is a class outfit. But the Wildcats staved off any further attack on their lead and they took the half time, mid-wa- y 21-1- 27-1- takes the state 4A trophy over to the studentbody after the Wildcats mauled the Braves. the state championship.
