Installed as new officers for Academy announced recently that Paul S. Kirby has been named a 1982 U.S. National Award winner in agriculture. This award is a prestigious honor very few students can hope to attain. In fact, the Academy recognizes less than 5 percent of all American high school students. PAUL, WHO attends Davis High School, was nominated for this award by Bill Ekestom a FFA vocational agricultural advisor at the school. Pauls name will appear in the U.S. Achievement Academy cial yearbook, which is offi- pub- lished nationally. Paul is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred B. Kirby. The annual Miss Davis County Scholarship Pageant will be held this year July 31 in the new Woods Cross High School auditorium. Young ladies who are between the ages of 17 and 24 years and are current residents of Davis County are invited to compete for the title. THE WINNER will compete in the Miss Utah for Miss Layton High School Junior boys will be able to attend the annual Boys State conference to be held in June at USU. BROWNING is presently assistant legislative district chairman and was a delegate to the Republican State Convention in 1980 and is again a state delegate in 1982. She is his campaign manager.
