Hunter donates to center CEDAR CITY Another significant donation has been made toward the Southern Utah State College Special Events Center, this time a $15,000 building lot in a Cedar City subdivision. Cedar City residents Forrest and Dawn Hunter presented the lot to SUSC this week. It is located in the Forrest Park Subdivision Sub-division south of the Valley View Medical Center and will be sold by the college, with proceeds earmarked for the planned multi-purpose facility. "We think the special events center will he a definite asset to the community as well as to the college," Hunter said. "My grandfather, Joseph S. Hunter, contributed con-tributed to the building of the Branch Normal School, and we think it only, fitting that our family donate towards construction of the special events center." Hunter indicated that he hoped other individuals in-dividuals would make similar donations. SUSC President Gerald R. Sherratt accepted the dedd to the lot and expressed ex-pressed his pleasure w ith thedonation. "This is one of the largest gilts donated to the special events center," he said. "The Hunters have been long-time supporters of the college, especially in the fields of music and public service, and we appreciate their contributions con-tributions very much as we're sure their iamily contributions wen appreciated ap-preciated i |
