Show City officials busy ivith light agenda matter when information from the FAA arrives. The only other item of business the council discussed was an appointment ap-pointment to the Library Board. CEDAR CITY Cedar C;ty Council officials took it easy this week with a very light agenda. During the short meeting Dec. 2, the council approved the filing of a grant application ap-plication for a porous friction surface for the city's airport runway. The airport's runway has been deteriorating for some time now and is badly in need of repair. The council is presently looking into resurfacing it through funds from the Federal Aviation Administration. Ad-ministration. "We applied for a grant from the Federal Avaiation Administration last year but were turned down," said Joe Melling, city manager. However, he added that things could be looking up this year. If the FAA does accept the city's proposal this time around they will fund 90 percent of the project. Melling stated that the total cost of the project is in the neighborhood of $363,000, according to an engineer's estimate. The council will continue con-tinue discussion of the |
