Show Merna Halterman Becomes October Bride In a quiet wedding ceremony which took place Saturday, Oct. 29 at 6 p. m. at the home of the bride's parents, two of Parowan's popular young people, Larry B. Mitchell and Miss Merna Halterman, Halter-man, were united In marriage. President W. CJair Rowley officiated offi-ciated in the ceremony with the members of the Immediate families fam-ilies present for the occasion. The bride Is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. CUtton Halterman, and the bridegroom a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mitchell, all of this . city. The young couple were honored hon-ored at a reception at 8 p. m. the same evening in the Relief Society rooms of the First-Second Ward chapel, at which a program of music and readings was given. Standing in the reception line with the bride and groom and their parents, were Collins Mitchell, Mitch-ell, brother of the groom, as best man, and the Misses' Doris Mc-bride Mc-bride and Sarah Ward, bridesmaids. brides-maids. Mrs. Collins Mitchell was at the guest register and Mrs. Shirley Talbot, Mrs Marlene Bur-ton Bur-ton and Miss Virginia Orton were in charge of the gift room. Max Dalley was master of ceremonies ceremon-ies for the program. Following the reception the newjy married coule left for a short honeymoon at Las Vegas-and Vegas-and are now making their home in Cedar City where both have employment, Mr. Mitchell with the railroad and Mrs. Mitchell at the J. C Penney store. Both are graduates of the Parowan High School and Mrs. Mitchell was a student at the College of Southern South-ern Utah where she prominent in musical circles. |
