Show K V V Rotary Club Honors Member and Wife On Golden Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Willard Jones of Newcastle were honored at the meeting of the Cedar City Rotary club Tuesday noon at El Es-calante Es-calante hotel as they prepared to celebrate their Golden wedding wed-ding anniversary Wednesday, June 25. Over 100 Rotarians and Rotary-Anns Joined In honoring the two as they reached their 50th year of married life. A huge birthday cake was cut and a program appropriate to the occasion was presented. The group was entertained with appropriate ap-propriate songs by Ray Cosslett and Myles Walker, accompanied by Mrs. Beth Leigh. Several numbers num-bers were also sung by a ladies trio composed of Mrs. Lois Mc-Connell, Mc-Connell, Miss Mamie Eck, and Miss Ethel Smith. Included were such song as "When You and I Were, Young Maggie," to which the honored couple was asked to don a straw hat and an old gray bonnet, and pantomine the action ac-tion of the song. In afidition to this part of the program reports of their trip to the International Rotary convention conven-tion in Mexico City recently were given by Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Knell, and Mr. and Mrs. Smoot Seaman. They stated that they were lavishly entertained by Ro-tarians Ro-tarians of the Mexican capital, and told of visiting cock fights, bull fights, the market places of the picturesque city, and other such interesting places and events. The speakers also displayed dis-played a number of souvenirs which they had brought back from Mexico, |
