Show David C. Eddards, former Cedar resident dies in California years, then moved to Gridley, California and in 1906 moved to Napa, California. He was a member of the First LDS Ward, the American Legion and was active in scouting activities for more than 60 years. He was a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award. Mr, Eddards also was active in American Indian Clubs in the California Bay area. Survivors include his wife, Mary T.; a son Gerald Eddards both of Napa, California and one daughter Coralie Willis of Antioch, California; one brother and five sisters : Eby Eddards of Watsonville, Calif. Fay Eddards of Laytonville; Pearl Petty and Dean David Clark Eddards, 82, of Napa, California died Thursday May 25, 1978 in a Napa Hospital following a long illness. He was born August 4, 1895 in Cedar City to David Vincent and Emma Clark Eddards. He was , reared and received his education in Cedar City. Mr. Eddards served in France during World War I in the J U.S. Army. Following the war he went to California to work as a mechanic. Later he was employed at Treasure Island as a hoisting engineer. He worked there 20 years before retiring. Mr. Eddards was married in San Rafael, California in 1942 to Mary Twohy. He and his family lived there 20 Hunter both of Cedar City; Thelma Kelsey of El Monte, Calif, and Vilate Stringham of Montana; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held May 30, 1978 in the Napa First LDS Ward Chapel, Napa, California. A viewing was held at the Boyer Southern Utah Mortuary on Thursday June 1, 1978 prior to traveling to the Cedar City Cemetery. Family prayer was offered of-fered by Richard Boyer and Bishop George Fry gave the dedicatory prayer. Full military rites were given. Graveside services were under the direction of the Boyer Southern Utah Mortuary. |
