Show Funeral Services Held for John P. Bayles Funeral services for John P. Bayles, prominent farmer and livestockman of Parowan, who died at his home here last week, ! were held at 2 p. m. Thursday in the First Ward Chapel. Alma Evans of the First Ward Bishopric Bishop-ric conducted the services with Mrs. Itha Mortensen at the organ for prelude and postlude music. I Speakers at the services were Dr. Glen B. Orton of Sprlngville, I Barbara M. Adams and Pres. .Howard D. Knight, with opening remarks by Bishop Evans. The I prayer at the home was offered I by LeRoy Adams, the benediction ' by Herman E. Bayles and the I grave at the Parowan City cemetery ceme-tery was dedicated by Thomas K. Holyoak. The musical program included includ-ed the opening and closing songs, "There Is a Green Hill Far Away' and "Now The Day Is Over", respectively, re-spectively, by a ladies trio composed com-posed of Elna Stubbs, Ramona Stubbs and Shirley Evans; a piano solo, "I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen." a favorite tune of the deceased, played by his granddaughter. Penny Matheson, and a vocal solo, "i ll Wal!i With God," by Mrs. Darlene Pendleton. Pendle-ton. Mrs. Mortensen was at the piano for all songs. Pallbearers were three sons, Marel, Frank and John Galen, and three grandsons, Ray and I Wesley Boyles and Stewart Math-.eson. |
