Show Funeral Services Held for Lucy Barton Stapley Funeral sendees were held on Monday in the Paragonah ward chapel for Lucy Ann Barton Stapley, Stap-ley, 73, a resident of Cedar City during the past four years, who died Friday of a heart ailment. Having served for 15 years as a leader in the 4-H clubs, she has been one of the outstanding workers of the organization in Iron county. She has ben a 4-H club leader for a number of years and also served as community supervisor for 4-H club work. Also active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she spent many years doing temple tem-ple work. She also was affiliated with church auxiliary organizations, organiza-tions, serving as an officer and teacher. A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Barton, she was born Oct. 10, 1876 at Paragonah. She married William Francis Stapley Stap-ley in 1896. He died Dec. 24, 1945. Following his death she moved to Cedar City. j She had lived in Paragonah un-til un-til her marriage. Later she lived I at Panguitch. in eastern Nevada and other southern Utah communities. com-munities. Survivors are five sons and three daughters: Barton, Blaine, and Smith Stapley. all of Cedar City: Earl Stapley, Summit; Fran-cis Fran-cis Stapley, Provo; Mrs. Lucille Jensen. Cedar City; Mrs. Nlta Jones, Richmond, Calif, and Mrs. Leone Schenley, Provo, and one brother and two sisters: Penn Barton, Calif.; Alice Brown, Provo, Pro-vo, and Mrs. Caroline Moore, California. Burial was in the Paragonah cemeterv. |
