Show George W. Short Funeral Service Held Wednesday Funeral services were held In the Third ward chapel Wednesday forenoon fore-noon for George W. Short, 59, who died Sunday evening of an alleged self-inflicted gunshot wound. Mr. Short, who until a year ago when poor health forced him to stop working had been employed as a road, railroad and mine worker, was reported to have become despondent de-spondent and took his lire by shooting. shoot-ing. A coronors hearing held before Justice of the Peace Alex H. Rollo. with K. M. Doan, Frank H. Petty and Herbert Milne, as Jurors, reached reach-ed the verdict that "Short had met death from a self-inflicted gunshot wound." The deceased was born at Ruby Valley, Nevada, on February 19, 1888 a son of Thomas O. and Mary Ann Dcvlne Short. He lived In Nevada Ne-vada until 1921 when he came to Utah as an employee of a road construction con-struction company. On December 26, 1924. he married Vilo Russell of Springdale, Utah and in 1936 they moved to Cedar City und have lived here since. Mr. Short Is a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his widow and four children. Robert Shorl who Is serving serv-ing with the U. S.
