Show Beaver Man Killed In Freak Accident On Newcastle Farm James Brooks, 64, of Beaver, was the victim of a freak accident on the Geary Page farm at Newcastle Thursday afternoon, June S. He wa. killed Instantly when a heavy tractor trac-tor he was driving overturned and pinned him beneath the machine. Iron County Sheriff Kent O. Smith, who Investigated the accident acci-dent reported that Brooks was towing tow-ing a half-track driven by 12-year-old Shlrlene Page, daughter of the farm operator, when the halftrack sank Into the plowed ground, tipping tip-ping the tractor over backwards onto the driver. Mr. Brooks was born In Beaver on June 4. 1883, a son of John and Jane Booth Brooks, and had resided re-sided In Beaver all his life. His wife, Mae Evans Brooks, died four years ago. He Is survived by a ten year-old son and a sister, Mrs. Clark Moyes, both of Beaver. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon Int the Beaver East ward chapel, and burial was made In the Beaver cemetery. |
