Mrs. Charles Morrison is visiting Mr. Morrison at Xewhouse. Miss Nora Gleason will give a studio recital for Hortense Hodson, the bright little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Hodson, next Thursday. Miss Dorothy Kinney is at present visiting in Xice, France. Timothy Kinney will leave in a few days for Portland to visit his son and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J. Daugherty. F, T. Collins has gone to San Diego, Cal., for a few weeks' rest. F. E. MeGurrin has been confined to his rooms in Emery-Holmes during the week from a slight attack of the mumps. Mrs. Olbrich. who returned recently from Los Angeles, has opened the Ely rooming house. T. F. Bannigan. Phillip Brady and J. L. Herrick of the new Miznah district, forty-seven miles north of Ely. are in the city on business connected" with their properties. Hon. Timothy Kinney ai rived in the city last week. Miss Lorene Leary entertained a few girl friends informally at bridge Tuesday Tues-day afternoon in honor of Miss Margaret Mar-garet Colin, who is a guest at the McMillan Mc-Millan home. Three tables were filled with the players. Mrs. Leslie L. Savage Sav-age poured tea. Mrs. Martha Royle King has decided to rent her artistic and spacious studio in the Commercial block for evening piano recitals. The room easily seats 150 persons, and as an added attraetiin Mrs. King has recently purchased a very fine piano. It will undoubtedly be a very popular gathering place during the winter season. H. P. Clark, cashier of the Commercial Commer-cial National bank, returned Monday from Boise, after an absence of several days. Mr. Clark was detained at Boise on account of a delay jn the arrival of parties from Portland, who couM not begin their journey because of the Hoods. Mis. Kenneth C Kerr and small son, John Leeds, left esterday afternoon for Denver for a visit with her brother, Joseph H. Young, and family. Mrs. David Keith and her son. David. jr.. left Mcnday for Los Angeles and Terminal island. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. AV-ood entertained a theatre party of eight Thursday evening even-ing of last week to witness "Carmen." the affair being civen in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Wood of Ogden. F. Augustine .Heinze. Duncan Mac-Vichie. Mac-Vichie. J.. P. Gardner and AA. F. Adams were elected directors of the Utah National Na-tional bank Friday, with William H. Stnprt. Thomas R. Cutler, O. P. Miller. J. AA AV. Fitzgerald. John Henry Smith. James Chinman and W. S. Mc-Corniek. Mc-Corniek. all of whom have served on the board before. The new personnel of the board of directors has created quite a stir in local financial circles. It is reported re-ported that Heinze has bought $100,000 of the stock lately issued by the company com-pany and -that he will take an active interest in the management of the institution. insti-tution. It is understood that W. F. Adams Ad-ams wilr succeed Joseph Nelson as cashier in the near future. Mr. Adams recently resigned his position as cashier of the National Bank of the Republic. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Walker have returned re-turned from southern California, where they have spent several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Ray AA'alker are still in Oak- Professor and Mrs. Joseph J.
