Butte who sympathize -with the Boers in the present conflict : will soon'- be given an opportunity to i ) testify their appreciation in. a supstan- j tial way. In response to an appeal issued is-sued by the national officers of the" An- cient- Order .. of -Hibernians, divisions Nos. 1 - and 2 of . this city have taken th matter in hand and have appointed appoint-ed committees to solicit subscription fr this worthy cause. The general '.committee consists of - William 1). Clark, John Ferns, J. J. ; O'Meara and Major W. E. Deeney. The i i officers of ' the Austrian, German, J French and. Italian societies have prom- j ised their co-operation, and will ap- : point different. . committees to work among- their members, and in conjunction conjunc-tion with committee representing- the j Irish societies. The local committee will wait' on . the citizens in a few days and no doubt a large amount will be raised to enable tWi gallant Boers to carry on their fight against their English oppressors. |
