Show HEARING AND SPEAKING. It is certainly a most desirable accomplishment ac-complishment to be a graceful and effective, ef-fective, speaker, both in public and private pri-vate conversation, yet it is quite as important to be a good listener. Indeed, one cannot become a good speaker until un-til he has learned to be a good listener. Many people unwisely think that they will be heard both of men and of God on account of the gradilocuent and high-sounding words they may use. Nature has given to man' one tongue but two ears, that we mav hear twice as much as we speak. |
