Show Steunenberg in Tull Control Lewiston, Ida., June 6. The forces of Governor Steunenberg triumphed today to-day in the state Democratic conven-: conven-: tion, seating the contesting delegation from Shoshone county, friendly to the governor, the vote being 152 to 77. The , result is a practical endorsement of Governor Steunenberg's administration : in the Coeur d'Alene trouble, as the right in the convention was made al-i al-i most entirely on that line, j The opposition to the governor made a stubborn fight for two days and' de- bate on the report of the credentials' ! committee lasted four hours. Only indirect in-direct reference was made to the Coeur a Alene trouble by the opposition, the speakers limiting their remarks to the personnel of .the contesting delegations and to the regularity of their credentials, creden-tials, Shoshone county is the scene of the Coeur d'Alene mining difficulties, and one of the contesting delegations represented the element opposed to the administration of affairs there. The issue, therefore, brought the Coeur d'Alene ' matter directly before the convention. The Steunenberg men contended that the Shoshone county Democratic convention was controlled by Populists, who captured the primaries prima-ries under the dictation of those responsible re-sponsible for the labor troubles. On the preliminary vote to seat neither delegation the proposition was defeated by a vote of 13 2to 97. The vote on this contest showed Steunenberg's Steunen-berg's control of the convention, and tbe opposition then gave way.; The ' resolutions passed" endorse Bryan for president and Colonel James Hamilton Lewis of Washington state for vice president, and favor fusion of all reform forces in the campaign. The convention elected the following follow-ing delegates to the national convention: conven-tion: Colonel W. H. Dewey of Nampa. delegate at large; James W. Reid of Lewiston, W. B.
