Show Death of Dean Flanagan. Limerick, Monday. The Very Rev. Dean Flanagan, P. P., died Oct. 21 at the Presbytery, Adare. at an advanced age. For some years pat he had been in failing health. He had labored for forty years in Adare. and was nn intimate in-timate friend of the Earl of Dunraven. His early studies were at the College of St. Sulpice, Paris, and hia ordination ordina-tion took place in 1852. A year after he Became ' chaplain to the late Earl of Dunraven,, and accompanied him to Adare, where he was subsequently appointed admin- j istrator and parish priest by the late'; Bishop Butler. Ten years ago he was j raised to the Deanship by Most Rev. ; Dr. O'Dwyer. with the approval of the j Holy See. . Deceased was cousin to the late Judge Woulfe Flanagan, and belonged be-longed to one of the most respected families in. Roscommon. , He was a kindly clergyman, and was beloved by all classes. We regret to announce the death of the Very Rev. Richard Prendergast. P. He was a very, learned clergyman, and his fame as a preacher, both in Irish and English, has extended beyond the limits of his native diocese. He took a great interest in the welfare of the poor. |
