Show I Obituary. Miss Mary Ethel Harnby was buried Jilonday afternoon. Oct. 8, from the Church of St. Francis de Sales, of which she had for some time been a ealous member. Rev. A peculiarly sad death occurred at St. Joseph's hospital Saturday morning, morn-ing, Oct. 6. It was that of a young Italian, Fclipo Afrondo. who was injured in-jured in a coal mine near Pryor, Colo. Afrondo, who was but 29 years of age, was married a year ago in sunny Italy, but hearing tales of sudden riches to be obtained in America, he three months ago left his home in Palermo and came to the land, of promise to establish es-tablish a home for his beautiful bride. He came directly to Colorado and thought Fortune smiled upon him when he secured work immediately in the mines. It was but a few weeks before he was able to send for his wife to join him, and he was looking forward for-ward with such pleasure to the day when they should meet. He was scarcely scarce-ly cold in death when a telegram reached his little cabin saying she would reach Denver next day. A representative rep-resentative from the coroner's office was at the train to meet the poor little lit-tle bride, and his cruel news was a terrible ter-rible shock to her. It was feared for a time she would lose her reason, but sympathizing friends took her in charge and gently ministered to her wants. The funeral of Felipo Afrondo occurred oc-curred Sunday afternoon from the Church of Our Lady- of Mount Carmel, and the various Catholic Italian societies socie-ties attended and escorted the body to its resting place in Mount Calvary cemetery. cem-etery. Miss Adele P. Gardner, who died in this city on Saturday, Oct. 6, was buried on Tuesday from her late residence, resi-dence, 1135 California street. Requiem mass was sung at St. Leo's church by Rev. William O'Ryan. Interment was in Mount Calvary cemetery. Mrs. Jane Duros Rodgers, wife of James Campbell Rodgers, departed this life on Thursday. Oct. 4, at the family home, 1206 Evans street. Mrs. Rodgers lived to the good old age of 75, and had been ill but a short time previous to her death. Her funeral occurred Monday Mon-day morning with high requiem mass at St. Leo's church, which was crowded with the many friends who had known and loved her in life. Burial was in Mount Calvary cemetery. Besides her husband, Mrs. Rodgers is survived by two daughters. Mrs. M. E. McCallum and Miss Catherine Rodgers, and three sons. James Campbell Rodgers, jr., H. D. Rodgers and J.' J. Rogers. The funeral of Stephen H. Cleary took place Sunday afternoon from Logan Lo-gan avenue chapel, Rev. M. W. Donovan Don-ovan officiating. Interment was in Mount Calvary cemetery. The remains of Mrs. Mary Morrissey, who died last week at 3707 Franklin street, were sent to Longmont, Colo., for interment, after a brief funeral service at McGovern's undertaking parlors. par-lors. Mrs. W. C. McGregor of 337 Irving-ton' Irving-ton' street, died at her home last week and was buried Thursday afternoon, Oct. 4. from St. Joseph's church. Sixth and South Water streets, the Holy Name society attending. Interment was in Mount Calvary cemetery. William O. Flynn. son of Mrs. Martin Mar-tin H. Flynn, died on Sunday. Sept. 30, at his home, 614 South Twelfth street. The funeral occurred Friday morning. Oct. 5, from St. Joseph's church, where iequiem high mass was sungfo- thg repose Of his soul.
