Murphy, the jolly territorial agent of the Continental Casualty company of Chicago, who recently removed his headquarters from Pocatello to Ogden, left for the latter city Monday night after a week's business visit here. John S. Hickey of Nampa, formerly a Gate City resident, was in town Tuesday Tues-day from Salt Lake, where his son, Charles, recently underwent an operation opera-tion for appendicitis. The operation was entirely successful. The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J: C. McDermott was christened last Sunday morning at the Catholic, church by Rev. Father Van Der Donckht. The little lady now bears the name of Calis-ta Calis-ta Marie McDermott. Her proud father is secretary of the local Machinists' union. The McDermott home is at 234 South Arthur avenue. "Jimmy" Gwinn of Denver passed through Pocatello Monday night, bound for Helena on a business trip. He is a brother of Montie B. Gwinn. formerly of Boise, now a banker of Pendleton, Ore., which was formely "Jimmy's" home town. For two years "Jimmy" was secretary of the National Livestock association, resigning to enter a bank in Denver. Miss Rae Buckingham, for four years private secretary for James H. Bray in this city, has tendered her resignation resigna-tion and will depart during the latter part of the week for Pullman, Wash., with her parents, who will make that Washingtonian city their future home. Ed Kinney, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Kinney of South Garfield avenue, came in last week from the Kinney i stock ranch in Wyoming for an overnight over-night visit with his mother here, departing de-parting the next morning for Twin J Falls on business. |
