Show I EUREKA. ! ' t (Special Correspondence.) Rt. Rev. Bishop Scanlan came out from Salt Lake on Wednesday morning, Oct. 3, the object of his visit being to confirm a large class of children of St. Patrick's parish. His lordship spent the afternoon visiting the different classes m St. Joseph's school and in examining ex-amining the members of the confirmation confirma-tion class who had been on retreat three days. The administration of the sacrament took place at 7:30 the same evening, and was preceded by an excellent ex-cellent instruction on the ceremonies of the Catholic church, and followed by-benediction by-benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament. The Knights of Columbus went to holy communion at S o'clock mass on last Sunday.- The attendance of the Children of Mary on the same occasion was the best it has been for some time. Mrs. Pat Bonner left Friday for Ely, Nev., to visit old friends. Mrs. James Ryan was a Payson visitor vis-itor last Sunday. Miss Mamie Sullivan left Friday for the capital, where she will attend St. Mary's academy. Mrs. Charlie O'Connell was up from Tintie Junction last Thursday. Mrs. Frank Higson was visiting in the capital last week. Mr. and Mrs. James Stack left Friday Fri-day for Ogden, where Mr. Stack will attend the meeting of the special session ses-sion of the grand lodge of A. O. U. W. |
