'This plan, counsel asserted, was to prevent the petitioner from applying for a writ of habeas corpus. ' United States Attorney Burnett i-J absent, but Assistant District Attorney Piatt, when asked if the report was true, said that the supreme court of the United States would convene in October and that the Neely case was at a standstill until that time. H-? would neither affirm or deny the plan to rush Neely outside the three mile limit. |
