Show f LEADVILLE (.Correspondence Intermountain Catholic ) Leadville. Colo., May 5.-The church and parsonage of the .Annunciation parish look very nice, since J. J. Quinn the popular Leadville decorator has had a crew of painters painting'it for the past ten days. , i On last Monday evening the Church of the Annunciation was crowded to overflowing with friends to witness the marriage of Mr. Jerry Murphy th genial master mechanic of the Resur" rection mine and Miss Katie McNa'la-of McNa'la-of Leadville.. Their friends wish them years of happy married -life. The feature of the Decoration parade par-ade in Leadville was the grand showing show-ing the Knights of St. John made. They turned out fifty members in their beautiful uniiorms and made a decisive decis-ive hit with the Leadville public. Mr. J. J. McClusky, formerly head meat cutter for D. D. Sullivan & Co is at present in Seattle. Sullivan & Co.. has accepted a position w ith the Continental Oil Company Com-pany as stenographer and typewriter. ! Mr. P. F. Gildea. representative to the head council of the C. K. and L. of A., who held their session 'n Chicago, Chi-cago, has returned and is full of praise of the Windy Citv. Mr. Hugh McCaughey, who it will be remembered, was hurt about a year and a half ago while being initiated in a lodge here .has returned from Butte City, where he has been for the past eight months. Mr. and rlls. S. J. Sul'ivan arrived during the week from Old Mexico. Mr. Sullivan has been there fur sometime. He was joined by Mrs. Sullivan, who . had been sick in Denver . The estimated cost will be nearly ?40,0uo. This speaks volumes for the noble sisters. Leadviile will celebrate the -lorious Fourth in grand style. Father Gibbons united in marriare I Mr. Richard Mahoney and Miss Anna 1 Dougherty. The contracting parties are well known in Leadville, where thev j enjoy the acquaintance of a large circle j of friends, which was attested by the j large gathering that filled the church to witness the services. Their manv friends join in extending congratulations. congratula-tions. I The engagement is announced of Miss Nellie O'Malley and Mr. James Trolau, two popular young people of Leadville. Mrs. S. D. Nicholson left during the week for Clifton Springs, New York, on a visit to relations, and friends. She will be absent about a month. Mrs. Geo. Hancock and son George are enjoying the beautiful climate of Glen wood. ' - The A. O..H. of Leadville are mak. ing elaborate preparations for' their annual picnic on July 4. They will offer of-fer large purses for horse racing, and it is expected that some of the best horses in this section will be entered. The A. O. During the past week the 'pupils of St. Mary's school have been undergoing the 'final ' examinations preparatory to closing the school which occurs June 14, on which date the graduation exercises ex-ercises take place at he Weston Opera House.
