Show BIG FIRE AT DAYTON, 0. One Fireman Fatally Injured By Falling Walls. Dayton, O., Feb. 1. Fire broke out in the manufacturing district of this city this morning. The property de stroyed included the warehouses ana factory of J. P. Wolf & Sons, tobacco merchants; E. Bimm & Son, grocers; Benedict & Co., cigar manufacturers; the Dayton Paper Novelty company, and several other smaller concerns. The total Ice is estimated at $500,000. At 11 o'clock the east wall of Wolf & Sons' building fell, burying beneath it three firemen, George Coy, George Nien-aber Nien-aber and George Griesmier. Coy received receiv-ed injuries which will likely terminate in his death. The other two were not badly hurt. A hospital was opened up a private residence nearby to which half a dozen firemen and as many volunteers vol-unteers were removed with badly frozen ears and hands. ' |
