Show BUTTE NEWS NOTES. The funeral of William Pringle, who died at the Sisters Hospital of typhoid fever, took place on Tuesday morning from St. Patrick's Church, where requiem mass was said for the repose of his soul. He leaves a wife and one child. Miss Mary Crangle, 412 W. Granitott, is visiting: in Virginia City, the guest of Mrs. F. E. Castle. Miss Crangle is one of the most popular teachers connected con-nected with the public schools in Butte. Hon. Henry Mueller and family have returned to Butte from a visit to Germany Ger-many and France. j I Judge William Clancy and two of his gentlemen friends from Missouri left last week for the northwest corner of the state, where they expect to spend about ten days or two weeks. Major John MacGueniss, vice-president of the Montana Ore Purchasing Company, has returned from the east. He attended the Democratic Convention Conven-tion at Kansas City and later on visited vis-ited his sister, who resides in Chicago. Senator Thomas H. Carter paid Butte a flying visit on last Sunday. The Ladies' Auxiliary, Divisions 1 and .2, A. O. H., will hold their first annual picnic at Gregson Springs, August Au-gust 5th. There will be several valuable val-uable prizes given for the different contests, and there is every reason to believe that this picnic will be one of the most successful of the season. The family of P. J. Brophy is spending spend-ing the summer in Deer Lodge. Dennis Ryan, the well-known pro prietor of the Ryan Hotel in St. Paul, j spent several days in Butte last week. During his stay in Butte Mr. Ryan met Joe Hannafin, who was once his partner In the ownership of the celebrated cele-brated Horn Silver mine, in Utah. Mr. Hannafin sold out his interest for at small sum, and some time later Mr. Ryan and Cullen disposed of their in-i terests for $2,500,000. Mr. Ryan went to St. Paul and erected a hotel, which has a national reputation. Mr. Cullen adopted the same plan and built a big hotel in Salt Lake which bears his name. Mr. Ryan is also largely interested inter-ested in some promising lead-silver mines in the Coeur d'Alenes. One of the notable society events of the week was the wedding of Miss Ad-die Ad-die Massel, the talented young violinist, violin-ist, and Mr. Thomas A. Carney. The ceremony took place fit St. Patrick's Church on Thursday at high noon. Rev. Father VanDer Broeck of Dillon Dil-lon was a visitor to Butte this week. |
