Show Citizens Ticket Wins by Small Margin at Centerfield Other News The town election at Centerfield was a very quiet affair and resulted in a victory for the Citizens, D. B. Funk being elected president and B. H. Bardsley, R. A. Fjeldsted, Newman New-man Beck and O. L. Malmgren, being the choice of the voters for trustees. There were two tickets in the field, the Peoples party opposing the Citizens Citi-zens party. Malmgren, on the Peoples Peo-ples ticket, beat J. S. Jensen, the Citizens nominee, for the trusteeship. trustee-ship. The election was close, however, how-ever, and the head of the ticket went hi with only three majority. Last Tuesday Mrs. E. H. Bardsley waa summoned to Scipio on account of the serious illness of her mother, Mrs. William Thompson. Word was first received that there wa.s very little hope for the life of Mrs. Thompson, but later advices were td the effect that there was a slight change for the better. Jesse Bardsley, formerly of Centerfield, Cen-terfield, but now of Loa, has taken his wife to Salt Lake for an opera tion. It is reported that Mrs. Bardsley Bards-ley is critically ill. Mr. and Mrs. Alexius C. Jensen are receiving the congratulations from their many friends over the arrival ar-rival of a dandy baby boy at their home on November 1. The teachers and a few of the parents par-ents met recently and completed plans to equip the school ground with gymnastic apparatus. The work of installing the equipment will soon be done. The Parent-Teachers association will meet next Sunday with the Sunday Sun-day school to discuss problems and general community welfare. The association as-sociation will- meet hereafter with 'the Sunday schools the second Sunday Sun-day of each month. The Teachers training class are holding regular weekly meetings, the sessions being on Tuesday. It is very much desired that more attend the meetings and assist in the work. The garage which is being erected by W. R. Jensen will be finished shortly. The garage will be equipped equip-ped with modern equipment and will be quite an addition to Centerfield. |
