Show AXTELL NOTES. An item which should have been mentioned last week will not be out of place now. We refer to the sudden death on the evening of September 2 of Mrs. Elizabeth Myra Bosshardt at Garland, Box Elder county. Mrs. Bosshardt and family were amongst the first to settle Axtell and she made this her home for many years. No one was with deceased at the time she expired, which it appears happened hap-pened while yet in her bed from a sudden attack of illness. Deceased was well known to the people of Gunnison Gun-nison where she resided for many years before coming to this place. Mrs. Bosshardt was 77 years of age on the 26th of August last and was born in Switzerland. The Spalding Livingston promotion of a new towusite at Axtell is progressing progress-ing fast. A surveying party is steadily stead-ily engaged at present locating boundary lines and town lots. According Ac-cording to information at hand this company will soon have Axtell known far and near as an ideal spot for home-seekers. Threshing is in progress and shows some good yields, though there is some crops it is seen below the aver age on account of Jrust that set in after the heavy storms of August. Miss Annie May Newton of Ogden and Miss Cleo Olson of Manti are visiting relatives here. Miss Lucy Smith of Manti has been in Axtell this week, the guest of her aunt Mrs. Alex Kasmussen. Christian Hansen of Ephraim is here this Thursday on a business visit |
