Show Legislative Notes. A bill introduced in the house pro-ides pro-ides that no corporation or other employer em-ployer shall require employes to work more than six days a week. A proposed amendment to the constitution con-stitution makes it legal to increase the proportion of taxation one mill. This provision is especially ' designed for the purchase of a site for and the construction con-struction of a new high school building build-ing in Salt Lake. The re-establishment of a bureau of statistics is the purpose of one of the bills presented last week. During the last two vears the work of gathering gather-ing and compiling data to be incorporated incor-porated in the report of the statistical clerk assigned to the task has been done under difficulties for the reasor, that no provision was made for necessary neces-sary expenses. The primary election law proposed in a bill introduced by Ashton in the house embodies the chief feature of the laws of Wisconsin, Minnesota and ether states. It provides for direct nominations of senators by the people, peo-ple, meaning election, and direct nomination of candidates by partisans. The elimination of conventions is the chief feature of this system of choosing choos-ing puolic officials. |
