Show "Pure Religion and Undefiled." The local Salvation Army corps opened their, Harvest Festival auspiciously with one of their usual charitable acts. A poor woman with three little children, who was driven from her home by a spiritualistic crank husband, applied for roliof and, without question as to sect, creed, religion or affiliations, the unfortunate family was taken in hand by these good people and fed, clothed and furnished with a comfortable bed and promised shelter and care until such time as the poor woman wo-man can find work. Her husband, B. W. Baldwin, who is a fanatical believer in spiritualism, made life a burden to his wife in attempting to proselyte her, and, failing fail-ing in his endeavors, turned her out into the street with her helpless little ones and after wandering through the streets penniless and hungry, the poor woman was forced to apply to these people peo-ple for food and shelter, and her plea for help was met by instant aid "without money and without with-out price " |
