To deny Apostle Smoot a seat on the ground that his associations are bad in Utah would establish a precedent that would make seats HH in the Senate of the United States go a-begging. 9fl Mr. Smoot is a good man. The objection to KH him is that he is a part of the power in Utah that iH gives a higher allegiance to another temporal H power then to the government of the United H States.
