Show ll m )a&giote Estella Smith Riggs HATCH Estella Smith Riggs, 93, of Hatch, passed away, May 26, 2001, in Panguitch. She was born Mar. 2, 1908, in Cir-cleville, Cir-cleville, to Albert Cyrus and Sarah Alice Robinson Smith. She married Orlas James Riggs, June 2, 1924, in Hatch. The marriage was solemnized solem-nized in the St. George LDS Temple, Tem-ple, Sept. 17, 1924. He preceded her in death Mar. 21, 1991. Estella was the Hatch Town Clerk and held other civic positions for many years. She was a member of the LDS' Church where she served in various callings in her ward and stake. Estella also was a member of the DUP. She is survived by children,' John O. (Lois) Riggs, Clearfield; Jerry A. (Dolores) Riggs, St. George; Earl G. (Maxine) Riggs, Clearfield; Duard S. (Donna) Riggs; Ilene E. (Leslie) Foote, both of Taylorsville; W. Ralph (Eura Lee) Riggs, Silver Point, Tenn; 31 grandchildren; 87 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Edith Hoffman, Draper; Grover Smith, Circleville; ' - " - V - I ' " -J Estella Riggs Kay (Ora) Smith, Pocatello, Ida.; Fay Worthen, Panguitch. She was preceded in death by her husband; brother Clarence Smith; and sister Idonna Barker. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 30, 2001 in the Hatch LDS Ward Chapel. John Franklin Marshall PAYSON John Franklin Marshall, 66, of Payson, Utah, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at his home. He was born Oct. 31, 1934 in Tropic, Utah, to William Francis and Frances Viola Shakespeare Marshall. He married Donna Marie Mechling Jan. 31, 1965 at Evan-ston, Evan-ston, Wyo. He graduated from high school in Tropic and attended Dixie and Snow Colleges and Utah Valley Trade Tech through Geneva Steel. He retired from US Steel Corporation after 25 years of service. ser-vice. He loved his horses and was a member of the Payson Racing Association and the Outlaw Riding Club. Participating at his funeral ser-vices was Stan Mecham of Tropic, a longtime friend and one who shared the same interest. Also speaking was Walter Talbot, former state superintendent of schools, who served ast high school coach and later as principal in Tropic, also a longtime friend. Talbot and his wife Dorleen also sang a duet. John Franklin Marshall was a member of the LDS church, serving as an elder and as a high priest. He was a hard worker who loved his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Donna, Don-na, of Payson; four sons and four daughters, John Bradley Marshall, I Payson; Jeff Marshall, Las Vegas, Nev.; Danny Marshall, Spanish w - j Frank Marshall Fork; Georgia Yates, Mountain Home, Ark.; Jana Evans, Payson; Allen Barry Clark, Lake Shore; Vonna Clark, Spanish Fork; and Denise Clark, Orem; 1 1 grandchildren grand-children and three great- . grandchildren; two brothers, and two sisters, David Marshall and LeRoy Marshall, both of Kanab; Julie Saunders, Casper, Wyo.; and Lucille Snow, Provo. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were held May 26 at the LDS Spring Creek 1st Ward chapel in Payson. DelRoy John Moosman TROPIC DelRoy John Moosman age 65 of Tropic, formerly for-merly of Spring City, passed away Monday, May 28, 2001, at his daughter's home in Spring City surrounded by his family. DelRoy was born May 29, 1936, in Circleville, Utah, to LeRoy and Guelda Bucklar Moosman. Moos-man. He spent most of his life in Spring City and worked for many years at the Moroni Processing Plant and retired from there in 1991. Then he and his wife moved to Loa and ran a cafe until 1996 when they moved to Tropic where they have since resided. DelRoy loved hunting, fishing, farming, gardening and most of all spending time with his family and friends. He married his soul mate and love of his life Virginia E. Elmer El-mer on Oct. 31, 1957 in Pioche, Nev. DelRoy is survived by his wife, Virginia E. Elmer, six children: Chris (Robert) Johnson of Spring City; Arnold (Sue Ann) Moosman of Mt. Pleasant; Foster (Wilda) Moosman of Mesa, Ariz.; Cecil (Diane) Moosman of Fremont, Utah; Joy (Brandon) Hope of Mesa, Aria.; and Steven (Amy) Moosman of Loa, Utah. He also had the joy of his life in 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters: Velma Moosman, Rose (Frank) Shepard, JeNeal Petersen, LuJean (Duane) Hunt and many nieces, nephews and . i . --I- ; DelRoy Moosman close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: LeRoy and Guelda Moosman, two brothers: George LeRoy Moosman, and Foster Fos-ter Valdine Moosman and one sister: sis-ter: Mary Madsen. Funeral services will be Friday June 1, 2001, at the Tropic LDS Church at 1 p.m. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Ursenbach Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant and on Friday Fri-day at the Tropic LDS Church from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Can-nonville Can-nonville Cemetery under the direction direc-tion of Ursenbach Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Robert L. Henderson ORDERVILLE Robert Lemuel Le-muel Henderson, age 84, died Thursday, May 24, 2001 at his home in Orderville. He was born Oct. 10, 1916 in San Bernardino, Calif, to Robert Lemuel Henderson and Margaret Broadbent Henderson. He married Letitia Naomi Larsen on Nov. 5, 1937 in the Mesa, Ariz. LDS Temple. Tem-ple. Bob was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and greatly enjoyed temple work. He owned and operated oper-ated the Galaxy in Hatch, which was a motel, service station and convenience store. He loved woodworking, and cre ated frames, cabinets, and small toys, and also enjoyed gardening and sharing the harvest with neighbors neigh-bors and friends. Survivors include his wife Letitia Leti-tia of Orderville; children Jeanetta (Charles) Hickey of Kyle, Tex; Robert Larson (Patricia) Henderson of Orderville; Norman (Alyce) Henderson of Hurricane; and Dennis (Terri) Henderson of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister, Mary Whiting Sterdi-vant Sterdi-vant of Riverside, Calif.; ten grandchildren, grand-children, three step-grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 29, 2001 in the Orderville Or-derville Cemetery under the direction direc-tion of Mosdell Mortuary. |
