St. George Blvd. St. George, UT 84770 PH: (435) 674-6200 FAX: (435) 674-6265 St. George Neighborhoods LLL ST. GEORGE — The St. George Roadrunners are not only winners on the field, but they are winning off the field, in the community as well. Santa Clara resident and co-owner of the St. George Roadrunners, Rick Berry said, “When we got a call to help a local boy, we were very excited to help. We do a lot with the community and giving back is the fun part. We love this. Last month, we had 1,700 people attend. ‘Paint the Park Pink. Axle Hardy even came to throw the first pitch. It was a huge success.” So, when Berry got the call about Brycen Hulet, a 3-year-old boy who was born with pulmonary artresia (a rare and complicated heart disease), Berry and the Roadrunners were quick to help out. Stephanie Hulet, Brycen’s mom, said, “Brycen loves baseball. It is his favorite sport. He recently was qualified for a wish through Make-A-Wish and is thinking about having a baseball field built in our backyard. He is too young to play on his big brother's baseball team and is always getting asked to get off the field” When Berry heard about Brycen’s love for baseball, he quickly got things organized so that Brycen could throw an opening pitch at the game that night. But, Berry didn't stop there. Brycen was treated to a meeting of the whole Road Runner team, hanging out in the dugout, and being given an official team hat and shirt. For a little boy who has already had two open heart surgeries with another one coming up this winter, he certainly has weathered some difficult health issues. — The Spectrum — 3 How To Reacu Us EE EEE By-carrier; $9.50 per month; by mail $15 per month throughout the.
